Project Director - Arizona Women's Education and Employment Inc. (AWEE)
Kerri Schultheis became involved in corrections and prisoner reentry immediately following her college graduation in 1998. She has been the Project Director for Arizona Women's Education and Employment, Inc. (AWEE), a non-profit organization dedicated to changing people's lives though the dignity of work, since 2006. She currently oversees four prisoner reentry programs. Kerri has been a plenary speaker and a panelist on various prisoner reentry topics at several White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives and U.S. Department of Labor conferences. Prior to her work at AWEE, she worked for almost ten years with the Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC). During her tenure with ADC, she worked with both female and male inmates ranging from minimum to maximum security. She served on a Total Quality Management Committee and was a member of the pilot Correctional Managers Academy. She has been trained in mediation, crisis intervention and equal opportunity. She received her bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Northern Arizona University. Kerri has been involved with the American Cancer Society for their annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk multiple times in the last few years. In her free time, Kerri enjoys the beauty of Arizona through rock climbing and going on regular hikes.
