Dub Turner started a Law Enforcement career in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Military Policeman and CID Agent. In December1973 left the Marine Corps and went to work for the University of Oklahoma Police Department for 2 years.  Was hired by the Norman Police Department in 1975 and worked there for 5 years, 2 of which were in the special operations (narcotics) unit. In August 1980 went to work for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics. Was promoted to Supervisor in 1982 and directed the operations of the Lawton District office till 1987. Supervised the Ardmore District office until 2003 then transferred to Oklahoma City and was assigned to the HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) unit. During the years received a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Cameron University, an Advanced Certification from the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training, was a CLEET certified firearms instructor for handguns, shotguns, rifles and automatic weapons. Was an OBN and CLEET instructor for Clandestine Drug Labs and Informant Management. Also was a graduate of the Army National Guard Mobile Operations in Urban Terrain School, Air Assault School, and Rappel Master Schools.  Retired in April 2007 and returned in August 2007 as Program Director of COPNET. (Community –Oriented Proactive Narcotic Education and Training).
