BREAKING TRADITION STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

To recognize a post-secondary or technical education student  who has demonstrated distinguished achievement or performance on changing public attitude regarding gender equity and/or stereotyping.

 

ELIGIBILITY
A student enrolled in or who has completed a college degree or technical education program that is nontraditional for their gender or has participated in services and/or activities that have reduced gender bias and stereotyping in the school and/or the community.

 

CRITERIA
• Distinguished themselves in an endeavor not usually associated with their gender (female or male), race, ethnic origin, religion, disability, or age.
• Achievement should have had a program/school impact--or the potential for impact--once recognized.
• Should be committed to the basic principles of equity and embrace the richness of cultural diversity.
