Shawn McMahon
Shawn McMahon is Vice President for Policy and Programs, Wider Opportunities for Women (WOW), Washington, DC. Shawn oversees WOW's diverse advocacy, research and training programs. Shawn is WOW's former Manager of research and Innovation and design and oversaw research for WOW's national and local programs projects, including the Basic Economic Security Tables (BEST) Index, the Economic Security Scorecard and the Living Below the Line demographic studeis series.
Earlier in his career, Shawn developed adult education programs within the nonprofit and private sectors, including within the former District of Columbia Mayor's Adult Literacy/Lifelong Learning Initiative. He is the author of Fight for Equality: International Medical Graduates in the United States, and has worked as a ghostwriter of policy-related nonfiction. Shawn holds degrees in economics, political science, English and international political economy from Rutgers University and the University of California, San Diego.
